Removing Heavy Metals and Toxins

After writing my blog titled “The Importance of Removing Heavy Metals and Toxins from Our Body” I have been receiving requests to write more on this subject.  This is a topic that is very important to me, one that I believe is essential to optimize and maintain a healthy body.

What is Detoxification?

Detoxification means to remove a harmful substance (poisons, toxins or other impurities) or the effect of such. I have known for sometime how important  it is to detoxify your body.  I witnessed people incorporating healthy changes into their lifestyle, seeing positive results yet hitting roadblocks.  However, I could NOT find a safe, effective, and COMPLETE detox that was easy to incorporate into the average person’s lifestyle.   Many have side effects that can do more harm to your body.  If it is too complicated, too expensive, too time consuming, most of us will not consistently follow through for any length of time.

Detoxification Methods

“It is abundantly clear that diet and lifestyle changes are not enough.  Environmental factors increase our risk of cancer,” says Dr. Alex Lee, M.D., board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.  “No matter what we try to do to minimize exposure, we are all at risk.”

The term “detoxification protocol” encompasses a wide variety of therapies designed to achieve this on varying levels.  I have listed some of the methods below:

Infra-red sauna

Clay bath treatments

Colonics

Chelation therapy (oral and IV)

Massage

Magnetic and far-infrared technologies

Supplements, herbs and foods

More on Supplements, Herbs and Foods

There are a significant number of foods and supplements that are known to have antioxidant and  detoxifying properties:  msm milk thistle, glutathione, n-acetylcysteine, chlorella, algae, barley grass and  certain mushrooms, as well as vitamins C and E, and selenium – to name a few.   They help support your body so it can effectively process toxins and protect against free radical damage.  Herbs include garlic, echinacea, dandelion root, cayenne, ginger, licorice root and goldenseal.

I believe  the most effective, safest (*the FDA has given this GRAS status), and  easiest detoxifier is liquid zeolite.  It is a natural chelating mineral that binds and SAFELY eliminates toxins, viral sub-particles, allergens, and heavy metals from our body. The beauty of this mineral, unlike other chelating agents, is that it is target specific – it is a negatively charged mineral that targets positively charged particles.  This simply means it will only take out the bad (such as cadmium, lead and mercury) and leave in the good (such as calcium, magnesium, and phosphorous).  Because zeolite encapsulates the toxin into its cage-like,  honey-comb structure, the toxin will NOT be released into the bloodstream and do harmunlike other chelators.

And it doesn’t get any easier…..you simply take  a certain amount of drops daily, depending on the state of health of your body and your purpose for taking.

As for me and my family

We have incorporated a variety of modalities to detoxify our bodies on a daily basis. I have enjoyed the infra-red sauna and massage modalities and incorporate regular chiropractic care into our family regime.  The entire family utilizes magnetic and far-infrared technologies, including sleep systems.  We have recently added the Biomat (infrared mat)  to our get healthy/stay healthy protocol.   Along with our healthy whole food diet plan, our nutrition regime includes  Pure Body (liquid zeolite), GATA (msm based), Heart (which we use as a multi-vitamin mineral +) and Balance.

In Conclusion:

I encourage you to START somewhere!    Do your homework, research the pros and cons, make a decision.  Choose a modality that makes sense to you:  one that you believe is safe, effective and that fits your lifestyle. If it doesn’t, you will be less likely to follow through.

*GRAS status means “generally recognized as safe”.
